Basic Knowledge of RealRoad CS500?

What Is RealRoad?

The Coospo CS500 is the second bike computer in the Coospo REALROAD series. But why is it called REALROAD? The name stands for real road or right road. We hope that Coospo users, by using our bike computer and the accurate data it provides, can find their own ideal cycling or training path. On their cycling journey, users can pursue and achieve their personal goals, which also reflects the value of Coospo's products.

In the past, Coospo bike computers were all designated with the prefix BC such as BC200, representing bike computer. With the introduction of the CS300 series, the prefix CS is utilized, symbolizing Coospo. This strategic adjustment is expected to enhance our brand visibility and resonance with users.

What's New?

Hardware

Packaging

The CS500 comes in the same kind of packaging as the CS300, made from a material with a unique story—recycled sugarcane pulp! That’s right, when you open this box, you’re not just getting a high-tech cycling companion, you’re also making a positive impact on the planet’s green future. Coospo is committed to corporate responsibility and caring for the environment.

Battery

The CS500’s battery is a standout feature! With an impressive 45-hour battery life, it’s unmatched among Coospo’s bike computers. Imagine going on a long ride, and the CS500 keeps your experience uninterrupted by low power. It not only lasts long but also charges in just 2 hours, so you can quickly recharge during a short break and continue your journey.

Chip and Positioning

At the heart of the CS500 is the Ublox M10 GPS chip, a product of Swiss precision. This chip offers low power consumption, strong signals, and stable connections.

The CS500’s five-star positioning system integrates Beidou, GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, and QZSS satellite systems, allowing you to choose the best combination for your ride. Whether you’re in a city with tall buildings or in remote areas with weaker signals, the CS500 delivers accurate and fast positioning.

This not only makes your ride safer but also helps you review your journey clearly afterward.

Storage

The CS500 offers storage for up to 400 hours (32M) of activity records, a significant upgrade. This allows users to store more ride data without frequently syncing or deleting old records. You won’t need to sync data after every ride; instead, you can handle it all at your convenience.

Other Accessories

Let’s talk about the CS500 accessories.

First is the anti-lost strap, ensuring your CS500 stays securely attached to your bike. Whether you’re navigating crowded city streets or bumpy mountain trails, the strap keeps your CS500 safe and in place.

Then there’s the new round mount. It’s designed with precision, offering a clear and firm fit with a better feel.

Lastly, we have the Type-C charging cable. No need to carry extra cables when you’re out. The universal Type-C means you can use it to charge your phone, tablet, and even the CS500, lightening your load.

And we also make a silicone case. Whether you’re riding on rough roads or have an accidental fall, this case protects your bike computer from damage. It’s shockproof and scratch-resistant, keeping your device in top condition.

Overall, these CS500 accessories are more than just add-ons—they ensure your CS500 performs its best in any situation.

Software

Customize Data

The CS500 can display up to 9 data pages, most customizable with 1 to 7 data fields. It’s like having a multifunctional dashboard tailored to your needs.

For example, you can set the first page to show speed and distance to keep track of your pace. The second page could display heart rate and calories burned to monitor your workout intensity. The third page might show ride time or average speed to assess your performance.

The altitude graph on the CS500 isn’t just a cold number; it’s a dynamic curve that shows you the steepness of the climbs and the thrill of the descents. This visual representation helps you better plan your ride, adjust your breathing and cadence, like having a terrain map right on your bike computer.

Electronic Shifting

Electronic shifting (or e-shifting) makes gear changing on your bike smooth and easy. With just a press of a button, you can shift gears instantly without having to push a gear lever.

On the CS500 bike computer, the four battery indicators (front, rear, left, and right) show the battery status of each part of the electronic shifting system: the front derailleur (for front gears), the rear derailleur (for rear gears), and the left and right shift buttons.

These four battery indicators are there to help cyclists monitor the battery status of each part of the electronic shifting system in real time, preventing gear shifting failures due to low battery.

This feature is especially useful in unfamiliar areas or complex routes. It acts like a smart map, providing real-time updates on the best route.

Thanks to its five-star positioning system, the CS500 offers precise navigation, whether you’re in a city or on rural paths. It saves you time by showing directions directly on the screen, so you don’t have to stop and check your phone or a paper map.

Additionally, it enhances safety by allowing you to focus on the road rather than being distracted by your phone or a map, making your ride more enjoyable and worry-free.

Training Mode (Available on September)

The training mode on the CS500 isn’t just a simple feature—it organizes your training plan clearly and effectively.

You can set various interval targets based on your needs, like maintaining a specific heart rate or reaching a speed goal. The CS500 will guide you on when to speed up or slow down, and it displays your progress in real time, so you always know how close you are to your target.

This feature also boosts training efficiency by preventing wasted time on ineffective workouts. Plus, the training mode adjusts based on your fitness level and progress, helping you avoid overtraining with smart interval settings.

Sensor Connection

The CS500 connects not just to heart rate monitors and speed/cadence sensors, but also to a range of new sensors like radar, electronic shifting, smart trainers, and power meters.

Smart Functions

Smart Automatic Features

The CS500 supports many languages: English, Русский, 한국인, Nederland, Deutsche, Español, Français, Italiano, Português, 日本語, and 简体中文. For users in non-English-speaking countries, being able to view data and settings in their native language greatly enhances usability and comfort. This is especially helpful for users who are less tech-savvy, particularly older users, as using a familiar language lowers the barrier to entry.

CoospoRide APP Optimization

Adding Sensors: With the app, you can easily add or pair various sensors, such as heart rate monitors, speed, and cadence sensors.

Notifications  (Available on September): Customize your notifications to receive only the alerts you care about, like social messages. You can also turn off call alerts when you need to focus, keeping your ride uninterrupted.

Alert Settings: Set alert thresholds for heart rate or other important metrics. The CS500 will automatically notify you when these thresholds are reached.

Ephemeris Data  (Available on September): The offline ephemeris feature allows you to send ephemeris data to your bike computer in advance, enabling faster and more stable GPS positioning, even in areas with poor signal.

Set Everything on Your Smartphone: You can preview the CS500 settings page in the app, allowing you to plan your setup before connecting the device, ensuring quick sync and personalized configurations.

CoospoRide APP provides an intuitive UI, making interaction with the CS500 smoother and more convenient.

What are the main differences between CS500 and BC200?

The evolution from the BC200 to the CS500 is more than just an upgrade—it's about listening to users and meeting their needs. With each iteration, we focus on improving the riding experience.

BC200 VS CS500

Button: The CS500 has upgraded its buttons, increasing from 4 on the BC200 to 6, with even better placement. Previously, the buttons were on the sides, making them a bit hard to press. Now, with two new buttons located on the bottom, they’re much easier to press while riding, and they feel better too.

Simplified Interface: The CS500's dashboard focuses on simplicity, making it more comfortable to use.

Data Display: Remember when the BC200 could only show numbers? The CS500 takes it up a notch by displaying data with graphics and curves, making your cycling data clearer and more engaging.

Training Mode: The CS500 comes with a new training mode to help you set goals, track progress, and make your workouts more efficient.

Turn-by-Turn Navigation: The BC200 lacks the feature, but the CS500 excels.

More Sensor Connections: Radar sensors, electronic shifting (SRAM eTap), smart trainers... the CS500 connects with all of them, providing a more comprehensive view of your cycling data.
